Case study
Forus Case Study: 500 Forms Migrated in 14 Months
Forus — a multinational retailer with 400+ stores across 4 countries — modernized its legacy system with Codikel: 500 forms and ~550,000 lines of code in 14 months, work manually estimated at roughly 16 years.

The context
Forus runs 400+ stores across 4 countries, with a core system that supports daily retail operations. Built over years, that system had become hard to maintain and evolve: legacy technology was capping the speed of the business.
Rewriting it by hand was unviable. A manual migration was estimated at around 16 years — a timeline no business can absorb.
Codikel's approach
Instead of transliterating the code screen-for-screen, Codikel worked in three steps:
- Knowledge graphIt analyzed the whole system — business logic, dependencies, data models — and represented it as a graph that captures what the system does, not just how it was written.
- Re-architecture to servicesFrom that graph it generated a new architecture on Spring Boot + React: a clean, maintainable service layer, not a clone of the old code in different syntax.
- VerificationEvery migrated component was validated against the original behavior, preserving the functional DNA of the business.
The same engine migrates Oracle Forms
Forus's system was a Delphi application. Codikel's engine and approach — knowledge-graph analysis, re-architecture into a service layer, verification — are the same ones we apply to Oracle Forms. The scale of Forus is proof the engine holds up on real enterprise systems, whatever the source technology.
Choosing to trust Generative AI was the key differentiator. It wasn't about “translating” code, but about understanding the architecture, using knowledge graphs, mapping the dependencies and complex logic — and above all, preserving the DNA of the business.

Have Oracle Forms at this scale?
If your Oracle Forms system has hundreds of forms and hundreds of thousands of lines, the Forus case shows Codikel's engine gets there. The starting point is a free assessment that sizes the real scope of your migration.
